Lumino City

My role

  • Sole programmer
  • Designer
  • Technical artist

When I first joined State of Play Games as their first hire and only developer I was plunged straight in to developing Lumino City. I relished the opportunity to help design the majority of the small puzzles in the game – it was like having daily game jams.

The most challenging yet enjoyable part was inventing methods and systems to achieve the unique art style. We worked with physical model makers and artists and my technology allowed the team to scan, film and composite real paper models to achieve the game’s final look.

Our hard work paid off when Lumino City received a BAFTA award for “Artistic Achievement.” The game was also nominated for “Innovation” and “Best British Game.

You can see more about this game on State of Play’s website and see my blog posts on the topic below.
