This blog post unveils early clips from the game prototype that eventually transformed into GLASS, recounting the dramatic progression it underwent.
In the early stages, before GLASS had any glass in it, the game solely revolved around a single rule coupled with four distinct colours. For further insight into my experiments with gameplay design, take a look at ‘Fun with Theorems.’
The prototypes involved doodling and scribbling. Whilst entertaining, this gave rise to notable gameplay challenges. Intriguingly, the answers to these challenges were what inadvertently steered me towards the stained-glass aesthetic that now characterizes the game.
